The UK's Highways Agency has issued documents (TD19 / 06 and previously IRRRS) advising that all new safety barrier systems must be compliant with BS EN1317, this includes Standard Runs, Crash Cushions, End Terminals and Transitions. 

With these changes in mind, Hill & Smith has undertaken a major development programme to introduce a range of products that satisfy Highways Agency criteria. 

This has resulted in the introduction of FLEXBEAM Untensioned Corrugated Barrier System and the more recent developments FLEXBEAM PLUS+ and TRANZFLEX. 

Hill & Smith's traditional range widely used on UK roads, includes Tensioned Corrugated Barrier system (TCB) and Open Box Beam barrier system (OBB).  TCB is one of the most frequently seen road barriers on the UK highways today.
